(Las Vegas, NM)- Twenty-three Alta Vista Regional Hospital employees received their service awards at the recent holiday party and service award banquet. In addition three employees were recognized as Employee of the Year, Non-Clinical Manager of the Year and Clinical Manager of the Year.
At the dinner recipients were recognized by Rich Robinson, interim chief executive officer of Alta Vista Regional Hospital, and presented with a plaque, pin and gift.
Employees that received their five year service award were Clara Archibeque, Merlyn Romero, Darleen Martinez, Geraldine Archuleta, Irene Gonzales, Margaret Fernandez, Keith Packard, Paul Garcia, April Schlenker-Lopez, Amalia Maki, Janis Fernandez, Samuel Lujan, Ali Jakarta, Dana Konno, Lindy Lucero and Beverly Morckel. Ten year recipient was Roger Valdez. Honored for fifteen years of service were Sharon Deel and Louie Baca. Twenty year recipient was Theresa Okoro. Thirty year recipients were Martha Montano, Dora Martinez and Erma Romero.
The recipient of the non-clinical manager of the year award is Mathew Martinez, director of marketing and public relations. Mathew began his career at the hospital in the admissions department in 1998. “His rapport with the community and local media have given the hospital increased visibility through implementation of hosted community events, monthly lunch and learn programs and leadership outreach presentations,” says Rich Robinson, chief executive officer.
The clinical manager of the year is Stella Bakarich, director of therapy services. “Stella is a get it done leader,” says Robinson. “She has enhanced our patient care by establishing new service lines such as pediatrics, vestibular rehab, urinary incontinence, women’s health, cardiac and peripheral arterial disease rehab.” Stella has been employed by the hospital since 2006.
Mary Otero who is an environmental services technician at the hospital is the 2007 employee of the year. She joined the hospital team in 1980. “Mary is a true team player who is dedicated to her job and loyal to AVRH, says Robinson, adding, “She is very detailed and thorough in her work.” Mary receives an all expense paid trip for two to Nashville, Tennessee for the weekend of February 22 through the 24 for the Community Health Systems awards ceremony where she will receive a plaque and a cash award.
